In a session that saw qualifying strategy largely dictate the pecking order and plenty of surprises, it was Belgian Thierry Xylander who lines up on pole position for the German V-Prix tomorrow, scoring his and Phoenix's first ever pole.
Adrien Simon was the man to beat when the flag fell this afternoon, with the top three being covered by less than a tenth of a second in a session that saw numerous stand-ins from reserve drivers.
Currently bottom placed in the standings, Highwind FV Racing have announed an entire overhaul of their driver line-up. Long-standing drivers Nikolai Milkovich and Diego Campos will not be retained for 2022, as well as Karl Beckenbauer who is on loan to the team from Westwood.
Enrique Ruiz pulled off a stunning lap at the death of the session the claim pole position. This is the first time since the V-Prix in Australia that a non-Downton driver has topped a session. The rest of the grid however was covered by just over a second in yet another incredibly close qualifying.
Matteo Zettici continued his impressive practice record by topping yet another session in Jerez, however the session saw teams struggling to keep their cars going in the Spanish summer sun, with several drivers getting limited running.

Elroy Wagner's replacement at the Lopez FV Team has been confirmed this evening, as the Swiss outfit announcing that Sergio Álvarez has signed for the team for the 2022 season.
Klaas Van Snelheid continued the strong form he showed in practice to take pole position ahead of tomorrow's race. He will line up with teammate Nathaniel Powers alongside, and Ruiz in third means Wagner qualifies outside the top three for the first time this season.
Klaas Van Snelheid put on an excellent display in his Pokemon-adorned Downton this afternoon, leading a pack which saw 25 cars within one second of the lead time.
