Ocelot today announced the signing of Liverpool driver Karl Beckenbauer to the team for the 2016 season, the deal came as a shock to many of the fans as Ocelot had landed a strong driver for next year in what was a hefty deal which the team hope will payoff with next year's car. Beckenbauer had the following to say 'First of all I would like to thank Robert Mathershaw for giving me the opportunity to race for the team and helping me get this far in my career. I hope that this can lead to a new chapter in my career and the Ocelot project was something which gained my interest when they approached me.' 'I know that it is very early in the season but we felt that confirming our driver line up as soon as possible would help us focus on the development of the car around these drivers.I can also assure you that Sikes and Dwyer will be backed full even if there are no seats available at the team for next season.' In an announcement coming just hours after it was confirmed Marcus Thunder and Nathaniel Powers would remain at Downton in 2016 and 2017, the teams leading junior driver - Kiara Thunder - has been announced at Ocelot for 2016.
