With their reveal, Franklin certainly showed their showmanship, but once you peel back the flashy layers, the JF-09 is unlike any car that Formula Virtual has ever seen.
Formula Virtual team Phoenix Motorsport have become the latest team to reveal their 2021 challenger – the PX4 – at the Oulton Park circuit today, in front of a small crowd of media representatives and fans. The Mancunian team also unveiled their new title sponsor following the sudden split from XXX Energy.
Hello and welcome along to the live watch along of the Franklin reveal. Whether you’re watching along at home, or can’t watch along, we’ll keep you updated throughout.
Welcome to another edition of the ‘Let’s get to know…’ series, hosted by me Scott Parkin of FVTV. This series aims to, whilst keeping it short and sweet, provide an insight into various people from inside the Formula Virtual paddock ranging from the famous drivers to the behind-the-scenes staff at some of the teams. Today’s guest made his Formula Virtual debut in 2018 after taking two junior series titles in 2015 & 2017. Last season, at the British V-Prix, he took his – and his team’s – maiden race victory along with a second place two races later on his way to sixth in the Drivers’ Championship; making 2020 his best season in FV. He is FIRST Motorsport’s Felix Perez.
The Phoenix Formula Virtual team’s title sponsorship deal with XXX Energy has been terminated, with Phoenix citing “a severe error in judgement” as the main factor in the split.
