Matteo Zettici continued his impressive practice record by topping yet another session in Jerez, however the session saw teams struggling to keep their cars going in the Spanish summer sun, with several drivers getting limited running. In the intense heat Zettici looked strong all session, never being displaced from the top spot. Ruiz and Powers were the only two able to get near the times set by the youngster, ending up under a tenth off of the Italian. The next closest was another three tenths back, Elroy Wagner taking 4th place. It was an incredible session for Phoenix, who claimed 7th and 8th place. They looked comfortable from the word go and got some great mileage in for the Manchester minnows. Thunder also did well, putting his Lucas into 6th place. Olen Inman got an outing in the Ocelot and was able to lap within three hundredths of Hunter Ryan, showing some solid pace. Doing the exact opposite was Raj Sharma for Lopez, seven tenths off of Wagner and in a lowly 22nd place at the end of the session. We also saw some reliability issues today, affecting at least four cars. Addison and Davenport never left the pits, setting no laps; Addison reportedly suffering from a severe oil leak and Davenport being plagued with hydraulic problems. Schnyder ahead of them only completed three laps, all out laps as he left the pits and returned immediately each time. It was a suspected gearbox issue, but no confirmation as of yet. Finally, Brock Kidd also had limited running, completing just five laps due to also suffering gearbox issues, which they were able to resolve for the final 15 minutes of practice. The teams will be nervously hoping they are able to rid themselves of any gremlins in time for qualifying, set to be even hotter than today. See below for full classification.
