Indianapolis, Indiana – After coming out of a US Virtual Motorsport Association (USVMA) meeting in Indianapolis today, Formula Virtual’s FIRST Motorsport Team Principal Adam Blocker was asked to address rumors that he and his team were considering joining IndyVirtual in the future. Blocker had the following to say about the possibility of joining IndyVirtual:
Nathaniel Powers carried his fine practice form over to qualifying by taking pole position for the Spanish V-Prix, but he was run close by team mate Klaas van Snelheid, who finished less than half a tenth behind.
Nathaniel Powers was fastest in practice for this weekends Spanish V-Prix, but the big story was the number of surprises in the order behind him.
In the build up to Diego Campos' home Grand Prix, Ingram have announced today they will run him in this year's Spanish and US GPs.
In the first major shake-up of next season's Formula Virtual grid, two-time V-Prix winner Johan Halvosen has been signed by North Star Racing for 2018, and will race alongside Judson Sikes, who is staying at the team for a third season.
Following the news yesterday that Aron Einarsson had parted company with Olsbergs Team Holmqvist, the team have now confirmed that the driver who will take his place is Lewis Ellington.
Aron Einarsson has been dropped by Olsbergs Team Holmqvist following the French V-Prix, just hours after he secured his maiden point in the series.
With the anticipation for the French V-Prix building, fans flocked in early to catch the final race of the FV2 series. Niklaus Holzberg dominated the sprint race, winning by an impressive 12 seconds, which was only possible after taking reverse pole late in yesterday's race.
Ocelot Team Principle Rai Miyamoto seems to be furious with the team's performances over the last 3 years especially as the team's around them have made progress. Having been at a board of directors meeting in Tokyo, he confirmed that the directors are extremely unhappy and that it could be 'last days' for the team.
Following Rai Miyamoto's claims of the sport needing to be more social being shot down by most of the other team's this comes at a point where Ocelot have not moved up from 10th in the championship in the 3 years they have been in the sport. As for who could take Ocelot's position, it is heavily rumored that the two teams who Ocelot have been mostly linked to are in heavy talks with the possible selling and re-branding of the team. These being Hibernas Lupus (Winter Wolves GP) of Germany and current IndyVirtual team Cerberus Motorsport who could look to entering the sport especially as their logo is featured on the Ocelot car and also due to their sponsoring of the Team's youth academy CODA (Cerberus-Ocelot Development Academy.) Team Principle's Olivia Rose and Lena Kreger of both Cerberus and Hibernas are yet to comment on Ocelot's situation and whether or not they are in talks with the re-branding. It was a clear, beautiful morning that greeted drivers for the inaugural round of the FV2 Series from Paul Ricard, France. Nobody could’ve expected the rain was going to thrash the circuit just after the conclusion of the race. The rush to the flag before the heavens would open led to a cracking race.
Nathaniel Powers will start on pole position for the third time in five races in tomorrow's French V-Prix, after pipping team mate Klaas van Snelheid in a wet qualifying session to head Downton's maiden front-row lockout.
