Welcome to another edition of the ‘Let’s get to know…’ series, hosted by me Scott Parkin of FVTV. This series aims to, whilst keeping it short and sweet, provide an insight into various people from inside the Formula Virtual paddock ranging from the famous drivers to the behind-the-scenes staff at some of the teams. Today’s guest – who we managed to pull in just before Christmas – made his Formula Virtual debut in 2018 where he scored a podium finish in just his fourth V-Prix, and has gone from strength to strength ever since; establishing himself as one of FV’s brightest young talents and beating his veteran teammate last season to become the number one driver at Ingram for 2021. He is, of course, James Vasquez.
Over the years, many different teams and drivers from across the world have come and gone; some enjoying far more success than others. As Formula Virtual prepares to enter its ninth season, we take a look back at some of the rather less successful teams and drivers who have done enough – or not, as the case may be – to earn themselves a place in the list of Formula Virtual Rejects.
Formula Virtual team BMPS Scuderia Meteor launched their new car online today ahead of the 2021 Formula Virtual season.
Defending World Champion Nathaniel Powers and Phoenix driver Thierry Xylander are both recovering in hospital after a cycling crash over the weekend during a training camp in preparation for the upcoming season.
Downton have tonight revealed their 2021 Formula Virtual challenger - the BD09 - at a virtual event for fans who entered a competition to win tickets to be amongst the first people to see the car that will serve Downton's title defence.
North Star Racing has unveiled the NS-06, their new car for the 2021 Formula Virtual season, at their team base in Perth, Scotland.
Despite having just 2 drivers in Formula Virtual - one of whom scored no points - Finland has had a fairly notable presence in the series, thanks to the successes of Tumo Kinnumen and the pair of wins achieved by former team FUN FV. There hasn't been many notable Finnish junior drivers however, until now. With third in the VERS 2019, the title of VARS champion this year and a in-class 4th place in the 24hr of Nurburgring, Henri Ruotsalainen has risen through the ranks quickly. Now part of the Highwind junior academy and set to race in the VWRS for 2021, Neil Allenby sat down to have a talk with him (over Skype).
