Peugeot have sold 2% of the to be Peugeot Grand Prix to leading French broadcasting house, TF1. TF1 will hold a minor stake in the team, expected to be worth £800,000. It has been rumoured that the TF1 sponsorship is linked to a new young French pay driver. The team refused to comment on this.

Despite powering Lucas Wilson Grand Prix to an impressive 5th place in the F1F Virtual Championship and being one of the most reliable engines on the grid, with only one failure (at the Canadian GP), Japanese supplier Yamaha have had trouble securing an engine deal for next year after LWGP moves to Volkswagen engines for 2014.
The company announced this morning that it is pushing for an engine deal and if they have no deal by the end of October. Most teams have already announced there deals for next year. Head of F1 operations at Yamaha, Taki Kuno, stated this "We are a very hard working squad, we promise to give 110% for anyone who signs us. We also use very advanced technology from Toyota, so it would be a shame to not get an engine deal after our come back which was more successful than we could've ever imagined". Parsons Update: Still in Coma, Serious Injuries Revealed, Test Driver Thunder to race in USA9/10/2013 The hospital looking after Scott Parsons has confirmed he is still in a coma while also revealing he has some very serious injuries, potentially putting his Virtual Formula One future in serious doubt.
Following the incident during the Argentinian Rally yesterday Parsons entered a coma in which he is still in while also suffering many serious injuries. The organisers called off the remainder of the rally which was being lead by Citroen's Mikko Hirvonen. Following the reports earlier that Downton F1 driver Scott Parsons and his personal trainer Lukey Harris were involved in a rally accident more information has come to light.
Scott Parsons has been rushed to hospital in a coma and although his other injuries are still unknown, he is said to be in a critical condition. The worse news however is that his personal trainer, Lukey Harris - who was acting as Parsons co-driver on the event - has passed away from his injuries on the way to the hospital. While Peugeot engines will be new to the sport as of next season, the new president of Peugeot Motorsport as well as team principal of what will be Peugeot Grand Prix has encouraged all teams without an engine supplier for next season to seriously consider a Peugeot engine.
Downton F1 driver Scott Parsons and personal trainer Lukey Harris have been involved in a serious accident while competing in a one-off Virtual World Rally Championship event in Argentina.
Parsons was running 17th overall on the event with Harris as his co-driver when their car went off the road just over a third of the way into Stage 8. More to follow... Lucas Wilson, Team Principal and owner of Lucas Wilson GP has said in a press interview this morning that he approves of Orange Downton Pagani's decision to build their own engine from next year.
He told us "It is a big choice to make, but I respect Downton for being the first to do it since, I think, Arrow's in 1998. You have to think of the upsides of building your own engine. I mean, you are not being put in any awkward positions by another manufacturer". |
