The latest rumors coming out of the virtual Formula One paddock are those involving Downton F1 and engine deals once again. Since the team confirmed earlier this week they would need to supply another team so as not to suffer financially Downton engines have been linked with Team 23, and now Westwood Racing.
It was announced earlier today that Westwood Racing's engine deal for next season had fallen through, and rumor now has it they are in talks with Downton and in competition with Team 23 for the Downton engines for next season.
While neither team manager was available for comment an unidentified paddock spy told us that 'talks have been on-going between Westwood Racing and Downton F1 since the collapse of Westwood's engine deal, and one can only presume this is about Downton engines.'
We can also confirm that Felix Beyer has kindly rejected Downton's offer of a test drive as he says he has other offers on the table while there is still no word back from Lewis Ellington, who appears to have disappeared off the face of the planet since BMW Zyla were excluded from the Championship.
