The British V-Prix brought incredible excitement and action-packed battles to the Silverstone circuit. The field was very tight and a small mistake could account for the necessary seconds to not score any points in the end. Nevertheless, the drivers kept their nerves to deliver some surprising results, but also to show nice fights without contact. To recap the race weekend, here are the 2023 British V-Prix winners and losers: Winner: Daniel Zientek It's safe to say that Daniel Zientek has been the biggest V-Prix winner in Great Britain. Starting position 21, he gained 14 positions and in the end scored the first points for Arrow Mechanics this season. Both strategy and his very calm behavior in duels ensured that the Pole secured points for the first time ever in his FV career. Certainly a result that he will not soon forget! Loser: Finn Schnyder The strong start to the AMR season was completely missed at Silverstone. Bad luck, accidents and a lot of traffic ultimately resulted in the first non scorer for the so consistent and strong Swiss this season. Overall AMR took 4 points from Silverstone, Ryan Peterson will certainly need to do something to get the Australians back on track. Winner : Will Taylor Strategy and driving skills confirm why Will Taylor is under contract with Phoenix. Similar to Zientek, he benefited from the struggling soft drivers and scored an important 8 points for the british team from Middleton. Consistency is the decisive factor this season: and the 31-year-old brings this consistency with him, which could bring Phoenix important points in the decisive phase in the fight for third place in the Constructors' World Championship. Loser: Ott Eskola For Ott Eskola, this weekend was a race to forget, in qualifying he was a good 10th place and in the end he was 16th in the middle of no man's land. A disastrous performance compared to his teammate, but we would like to emphasize that this season is his rookie season. It is a well-known fact that you learn best from bad results. Winner: Max Meyer Max Meyer not only impressed with his outstanding performance at Silverstone. 12th place in the race on worse tires than the competition is a remarkable achievement, even if the strategy saved you a stop. Fighting for points in the losing Lopez against midfield throughout the season is something his teammate fails to do and sets him apart from lower midfield. The South African only needs the points to underline his performance, but we are sure that Dylan Lopez cannot overlook this achievement and can be very satisfied. Loser: Felipe Cesar Compared to his team-mate, Felipe disappointed at Silverstone. While teammate Puccio Giodano was 3rd in qualifying and in the race, Felipe was 11th in qualifying and only 15th in the race. Unfortunately, we can't say whether it was because of the track or because of Giodano's strong performance, Cesar only reply to our interview request with an annoyed "NO". For most people probably a very meaningful answer. Winner: Downton There is arguably no greater dominance than Downton this season. Just to give you a few facts: 13 out of 14 podiums, 5 out of 7 races won, 6 out of 7 poles this season. With a 1-2 finish at Silverstone, the Brits continue to widen their gap on AMR, also due to the difficult race for the Australians. If Downton can keep up with the current high, they will break for sure many records. Loser: Ingram It looks like a solid start to the season for Ingram with some good points. The last two rounds turned out to be a slight "downfall" in performance. The British V-Prix confirms this development of Ingram, there was little to no hope for points in the race and the good results of the competitors doesn't help the team from Cambridge. Single peak results and luck must score points for the Brits or will there be a turning point?
