Westwood Racing Technology have finally announced their full lineup for next season, after a lot of activity in the driver market with nothing confirmed until this point; besides the return of the prodigal son, Tumo Kinnumen. Westwood have finally revealed their plans for 2021. They talked of their drivers and ambitions for next year in an informative statement posted on the team's website.
"I'm sure it's no secret by now that Tumo Kinnumen will be once again taking his rightful place in the number 69 car at Westwood. We are all incredibly thrilled at this; it's been a long four years without Tumo involved and we couldn't be happier to have him back in the fold. However, it's time you knew who will be partnering him for next season. I'm proud to announce that the young Canadian Jules Barclay will be occupying car number 70, graduating from the VWRS. We have been monitoring him for a couple of years now, and have been incredibly impressed by him. We feel Tumo is the perfect experienced partner for him, to show him the ropes and help get him up to speed in this top tier. We can't wait to see what this pairing is capable of! We cannot yet confirm our engine supplier for next season as we iron out the legal details, but what I can say is it shan't be a surprise to many. We hope to build on what we've accomplished upon our return the sport, and believe we can deliver the car to Tumo and Jules to perform even better than we have done this season, which has been a huge success for us. We're also excited to announce the return of Jochem Van Snelheid in a supporting test driver role. His feedback and technical knowledge in 2016 was invaluable to us in the development of our 2017 car which very nearly clinched a top three spot in the constructor's, and we're glad to have that technical expertise back onboard. We look forward to what next year holds!"
