Klaas van Snelheid has taken a third consecutive pole position ahead of tomorrow's Bahrain V-Prix, while team mate Nathaniel Powers backed him up on the front row. Enrique Ruiz took third place to limit the damage for Mathershaw Porsche with team mate Adrien Simon alongside, but was nearly four tenths off of pole. Q1Despite easily clearing the bar last time out in Canada, Franklin entered Q1 with some trepidation after Nick Addison could only manage twenty-sixth fastest in practice while team mate Enzo Domenicalli was up in seventeenth. The fears proved unfounded though, as for the second time Franklin ended Q1 with a 1-2, Domenicalli topping the session by just under two hundredths of a second. Yakumi Takahashi also comfortably made it through - only just over half a tenth behind the lead Franklin - but Arrow were also nervous after practice having only managed twenty-fourth and twenty-fifth, while Dmytro Kovalenko surprisingly put his AMR inside the top twenty. While the Ukranian didn't feature - ending up seventh between the two Meteor's, all of whom were around half a second off the pace - his team mate Finn Schnyder found a turn of speed. The Swiss man's first effort put him within a tenth of the second Arrow of Lewis Ellington - who struggled to match his team mate - but his second effort was around half a tenth quicker, giving AMR their third start of the season and first since Spain. See below for full Q1 classification: Q2As in practice, the Downton drivers set banker laps early on in Q2 - and were never bettered throughout the session. Conditions and times improved as the temperatures dropped, but pole position was disputed purely between the orange machines - with the pair being the only drivers to dip below the 90-second barrier. van Snelheid looked more comfortable throughout, and eventually claimed his third consecutive pole by just over a tenth. While both drivers were frustrated at being unable to challenge the Downton's, Mathershaw Porsche never looked like being deposed from the second row behind them, although Will Hoskins' final effort put him only just over two hundredths behind Adrien Simon. His team mate Felix Perez will join him on row three once again, but the Mexican struggled through the session, eventually ending up some three tenths behind. Behind the now usual top six, Dominykas Zvironas was the biggest surprise with the Lithuanian putting his Ocelot seventh, his best qualifying position since Malaysia and the teams best since team mate Hunter Ryan was seventh in France. He just beat out Jean Mattson in the lead Ingram, while Puccio Giodano was pleased to extract more pace from his Westwood than in practice to start ninth, with the second Ingram of James Vasquez completing the top ten. Thierry Xylander led the Phoenix charge with eleventh, just ahead of Gabriele Garcia in the North Star - who out-qualified Johan Halvosen for the first time this season as the Danish driver endured a dismal day, starting down in twenty-first. Lucas were hopeful after getting both cars into the top ten in practice, but the pace didn't quite materialise in qualifying, though fourteenth for Marcus Thunder is still the teams best grid slot of the season to date. Elsewhere Addison turned his fortunes around to out-qualify Domenicalli and take a season best seventeenth, yet after pulling out a blinding lap to get into Q2 - Schnyder failed to make it any further and will line up last, some seven tenths behind second slowest driver Takahashi.
