Klaas van Snelheid continued his recent run of form in practice for the Turkish V-Prix this evening, with a lap time six tenths clear of the next non-Downton car. Matteo Zetticci - getting his fourth practice run of the season in place of Nathaniel Powers - backed van Snelheid up in second with a time just over a tenth slower, while Enrique Ruiz was the British outfits closest challenger in third for Mathershaw Porsche, albeit with a time nearly half a second behind that of second-placed Zetticci. Adrien Simon was fourth - a further two tenths back from Ruiz - while Will Hoskins completed the top five and James Vasquez pipped the British drivers team mate Felix Perez into the top six, and was also the last man within a second of the top time, the Colombian another who is keen to extend his recent run of form. Allar Kangur gave Lopez reason to be hopeful of their one-lap pace for the first time in several races with a time good enough for eighth fastest, though team mate Elroy Wagner found himself in a more normal recent position of 17th, while Phoenix and North Star filled the next four positions; Thierry Xylander and Gabriele Garcia outperforming their team mates to complete the top ten. Jules Barclay - who earlier today was announced as a race driver for Westwood for 2021 - got his second practice run in place of Karl Beckenbauer and duly outperformed Puccio Giodano, albeit only by half a tenth - though this equated to three positions. One of the drivers between the two was Marcus Thunder in 14th - continuing Lucas' steady improvement although some way off their Bahrain practice times, though the famously purple outfit were likely focusing on race runs as they will start at the back of the grid after missing the strategy deadline. This is also the case for Cheema - who were only 23rd and 25th - while Arrow and AMR also failed to meet the strategy cut-off and will therefore automatically fail to qualify tomorrow, a result that looks as though it may be especially painful for AMR, as Finn Schnyder lapped an impressive 19th fastest. Enzo Domenicalli was just ahead of the Swiss racer for Franklin, while Ocelot's Bahrain pace appeared to desert them in Turkey, with Dominykas Zvironas managing only the 21st best time. It was not a good day for their team mates however as both the Australian drivers failed to set times due to technical issues with their cars. Nick Addison completed one installation lap but the team called in him due to overheating issues and he never got back on track, while Hunter Ryan failed to appear at all - the lack of a rear end on the car suggesting an engine problem.
