Klaas van Snelheid has continued his run of form since the summer break by topping practice ahead of the Bahrain V-Prix, with team mate Nathaniel Powers confirming the teams pace with second fastest. Downton were topping the time sheets from the moment the session got underway, but it was van Snelheid who led throughout with Powers - a three-time winner at Sakhir - unable to within a tenth and a half of his team mate. Enrique Ruiz remained an ever-present threat in third fastest as Mathershaw Porsche look to get their title challenge back on track - just over two tenths off the ultimate pace, but comfortably clear of Felix Perez in the FIRST, who was a further two tenths back. James Vasquez appeared to still be riding the high of finally getting a decent points finish this season last time out in Canada as he got his Ingram into the top five on the time sheets, just beating out Adrien Simon who concluded "we have some work to do" after ending the day half a second down on Ruiz. Will Hoskins also had a sizeable gap to his team mate - some four tenths - but was less concerned, more so lambasting the lack of a clear run. Sergio Alvarez is looking to extend his personal consecutive points scoring record from three to four races, and showed enough pace today for eighth to suggest he has a chance to do that, while behind him an impressive and somewhat surprising performance form the Lucas team saw their duo completing the top ten. Behind, Jean Mattson was only just shy of three tenths - but six places - behind his team mate, while Hunter Ryan led the Ocelot charge in twelfth ahead of Puccio Giodano, though both the Italian and his team were adamant there was more pace in the car. Meanwhile, both North Star and Lopez look as though they may be in for another weekend of struggles, Johan Halvosen and Elroy Wagner leading the charges respectively in fourteenth and fifteenth. Enzo Domenicalli continued his strong form for Franklin since returning to the series with seventeenth fastest - though team mate Nick Addison was nine places and eight tenths back from his team mate and also behind three additional cars who will also feature in Q1 - the Arrow pair and Dmytro Kovalenko, who gave AMR some unexpected hope of making the race with the twentieth fastest time. Just behind the Ukrainian was Jules Barclay - making his maiden practice outing for the Westwood team - while Meteor once again rounded off the time sheets.
