Downton F1 Team Principal Bradley Downton has given an exclusive interview to the F1F VGPC website following his earlier incident on rollerskates with a Bugatti Veyron while heading to the Westwood Racing new car launch that has caused 2 miles worth of tale backs.
'I was skating along quite happily when I lost my balance having gone down a pothole. I fell over into the road and just as I was getting up I saw a Bugatti Veyron with purple front wings heading straight for me. I tried to get out of the way but he just followed and hit me. Thankfully he just clipped me and sent me to the floor again so no real damage done but I'm not entirely sure what the knob was playing at!
You can be damn sure that when I find out who it was they'll get a piece of my mind. Now the police have arrived and closed the road because one of my rollerskates lost a wheel that smashed and spread across the road. I've recently heard from Liverpool boss Robert Mathershaw there have been tailbacks now lasting 5 miles.'
We for one are relieved that Downton is ok, although he did add: 'If I'm honest. I'm not sure why we're all heading to the Westwood launch so early. Andae's private jet has apparently already arrived and Kaz's barge is moored in a nearby canal, but the launch doesn't actually have a confirmed date yet and it's likely to only be Sunday at the earliest. Meanwhile I hope Harry has a PS3 because I have the Collantine Cup finale race on Sunday morning.'
