The Formula Virtual season did not start so well for the German rookie team SRT.
SRT has yet to finish a race this season and is still waiting to get through pre-qualifying with both cars. Despite all the difficulties at the start of the season, team boss Roy Seifert wants to continue to advance his vision of Germany as a motorsport nation with projects, especially in creating a Youth academy program. “I know that we have difficulties to be competitive in FV, but I don’t want to talk about it right now. I can see that more promising young german drivers are coming through the feeder series and I like that. It gives us more potential german FV drivers and more public attention. My goal is to make motorsport one of the biggest sports in Germany!” With all difficulties the FV Team has, ahead of the season opener Roy Seifert made clear that he had more projects than only the senior team. To achieve his own goal in making Germany a “motorsport wonderland” again, he started looking for opportunities to achieve those. The signing of veteran Karl Beckenbauer as their reserve driver or Timo Fischer as SRT's first YA driver are the first steps to achieve Roy's goals. Speaking of Timo Fischer, he is starting his last VARS season this year and will then join the VWRS. Without organization behind the driver, it will be difficult to be competitive. “Timo is our first promising talent. He will have to show that he has the skills to compete in the FV later on. He gets the necessary know-how from us to achieve his and our goals. With that said, I am happy to announce that the SRT TALENT FACTORY will launch as our YA program for 2023 onwards. Our program will provide the best care for our rising stars to get the maximum out of their talent. Timo sets the start of a promising future and I cannot wait to get more and more promising young talents into our program” VARS will start later that year and we will see how the SRT TALENT FACTORY will improve Timo Fischer’s last year in Tier 3.
