Adrien Simon has topped practice for the first time since Japan in the run-up to his home V-Prix in France. The home favourite was just over a quarter of a second quicker than second placed Klaas van Snelheid, while his team mate for the session was compatriot Sebastien Vocquelin - running in place of Championship leader Enrique Ruiz - although the VWRS regular struggled, and could only manage eleventh - nearly six tenths shy of his team mate. Will Hoskins made it three different teams in the top three with a time just eight thousandths slower than van Snelheid and two thousandths quicker than the second Downton of Nathaniel Powers. Jean Mattson impressed at home with fifth fastest - the best result of the season so far for the new Ingram-Jaguar partnership - with Allar Kangur sixth in the Lopez ahead of the second FIRST of Felix Perez, before James Vasquez made it two Ingram's in the top eight - both the single and long-run pace indicating the team may be in for a strong weekend. Sergio Alvarez put Phoenix back into the top ten with ninth fastest, one thousandth quicker than the lead Ocelot of Hunter Ryan to round out the top ten. Tumo Kinnumen had a strong showing for Cheema in thirteenth - but team mate Nikolai Milkovich struggled with the handling of his car down in 27th, some sevenths tenths slower than Kinnumen. Johan Halvosen also struggled down in 21st - 7 places and just over two tenths slower than Gabriele Garcia. Carson Davenport and Yakumi Takahashi showed well for Lucas and Arrow in 16th and 17th - as the two teams will be in competition in Q1 tomorrow - just ahead of the Westwood duo of Puccio Giodano and Olen Inman, the Monegasque once again running in place of Karl Beckenbauer and ending the session just 3 thousandths behind the Italian. Giani Ledesma and Dmytro Kovalenko also set reasonable lap times - meaning all four Q1 competitors had one car within the top 23 - while Franklin seemed to show the worse pace overall, Kiara Thunder the fastest of the duo in 26th with team mate Nick Addison only faster than Finn Schnyder, who tailed the times.
