Adrien Simon and Liverpool Grand Prix have halted the recent charge of Franklin F1 after taking pole position ahead of the British Grand Prix. Karl Beckenbauers best lap was good enough for second and his fourth front row grid slot of the season. The Silverstone sun shone brightly for the fans, teams and drivers in this seasons qualifying for the British Grand Prix. The sun looks to have shone brighter on Liverpool after the British team claimed their third front row lockout in four races. Adrien Simon set his fastest lap right at the end of the session. The Frenchman's time was just good enough to take pole ahead of his teammate Karl Beckenbauer and the on form Will Hoskins. The top three were within four one hundredths of a second of one another in one of the closest battles for pole in the series history. Enrique Ruiz was exactly a tenth off his teammate's best time, however was good enough for fourth place on the grid. No doubt, the star of the qualifying session was Ingram's Nikolai Milkovich who posted a sensational lap time to qualify in fifth. Puccio Giodano set the sixth fastest lap time ahead of reigning world champion Nathanil Powers. Enzo Domenicalli ensured both Scuderia Rossi's would feature in the top eight with his best time of 1.21.372. Marcus Thunder's best lap time moved him into ninth; putting his Bahrain qualifying behind him. Ivan Lesic rounded out the top ten for Peugeot; just over five tenths away from pole position. Tumo Kinnumen was the fastest Westwood driver with eleventh, ahead of Lewis Ellington on his return with Peugeot. Fun F1 didn't display the form they presented in Bahrain; however their times were good enough for thirteenth and fourteenths in the hands of Hugh Dwyer and Romano Agostino. It was yet another disappointing day for Team 23 with their best position being fifteenth in the hands of Elroy Wagner. Carson Davenport' best time was good enough for sixteenth, though may be slightly disappointed considering his impressive grid spot in last weekends Bahrain Grand Prix. Hiroto Nakumaya was the fastest of the new teams with a lap time of 1.22.773. Michal Kubat followed in twenty-second position. Liverpool will be looking to make most of their front row grid slot. The team have admitted not getting the results that they had been expecting, while Franklin F1 have claimed the last two wins in Malaysia and Bahrain. Eyes will be on Nikolai Milkovich who will start the race in Ingram's best grid spot to date, while also expected to be running on a one stop strategy. The race is predicted to be dry with only a very small chance of rain affecting the race.
