Simon was amongst the last drivers the leave the pits for his first run, but a rapid first lap produced a time of 1:25.345, over one second than team mate Inman at that point. The Monegasque reduced the gap to just under seven tenths with five minutes to go, when a stonking lap from Hoskins saw him split the DS pair, albeit still two and a half tenths away from pole.
Enrique Ruiz will line up alongside Inman on row two, just pipping his team mate Elroy Wagner, who has Stuart Harrison for company on the third row while Ingram lock out row four. Further back it was a disappointing session for both championship contender Johan Halvosen and last races pole sitter Carson Davenport, who start tenth and twelfth respectively, in amongst the AMR's. Judson Sikes was the fastest driver of the new teams - seven tenths quicker than Douglas Bacon's FIRST and just three tenths slower than Hilario Bull in the Ocelot - while Aron Einarsson was unlucky not to get himself off the back row of the grid on his return to the series. He will be joined by team mate Kiara Thunder who failed to set a lap in qualifying with an engine problem. See full times and tyre choices for the race below:
