BMPS Scuderia Meteor have unveiled a special livery for the final race of the season, which will be the team’s final race under the Meteor name. As the Italian team prepares to transition from BMPS Scuderia Meteor to become Lamborghini Squadra Corse for 2023, the team have prepared a special livery to celebrate the team’s beginnings as Meteor Motorsport in 2013. The livery has recreated the original 2013 colours of the team which were present on the Meteor KA-01, pictured below. The livery has been brought back to life on the SM221B and will feature at the season ending Mexican V-Prix. The initials ‘KA’ are clearly present on the air box of the car in order to pay homage to the Meteor team’s original founder, Kazuki Armos. The word ‘Arrivederci’ is displayed on the rear wing which translates to ‘goodbye, see you later’, or simply ‘farewell’. Scuderia Meteor’s recently reinstated Team Principal Shane O’Connell said “It’s a pleasure to run in this beautiful special livery for our final race as Scuderia Meteor. It felt like the right thing to do to pay homage to 10 years of the Meteor name in Formula V. As well as this, it is also a small tribute to Kazuki. Kazuki started this team and led it to it’s greatest season in 2016. Wherever you are now Kazuki, thank you and we hope you’ll be proud to see this livery grace the track one last time.”
