Following on from the recent announcement that Enrique Ruiz, FranklinF1 test driver, would drive the remaining races for Ingram GP, the team have confirmed today that he will take the place of Argentine Jonas Phipps. The news does not come as a surprise to much of the paddock. After Jamie Franklin broke the news, most pundits and fans thought that Phipps would be the fall guy. After all, Campos has scored all of the team's points this season and will continue to drive for the team in season two, whereas Phipps has generally struggled in race trim (although a much better qualifier) and is moving to Lucas Grand Prix next season. In a short press conference today, William Ingram told the press "Jonas has been fantastic for us, and we would have loved to keep him on for season two, his qualifying in Austria is a stand out moment for the team and we wish him will for next season and beyond!" Phipps himself also took the time to discuss the decision with the press, " I can't say I'm shocked, for sure I would have rather raced, but I'll be going with the team to the next four races to help the team. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the team for their support this season, and in particular to Will for giving me this chance.". Ingram disregarded comments that it was solely a financial decision, claiming that, while money is important, he also is a fan of Ruiz and is very happy to play his part in the Franklin-Ingram partnership. Ruiz will be expected to impress, considering that he will be driving full time for current front-runners Franklin F1.

In my opinion i think it would've been better to get Ruiz a drive at Mathershaw Technology pending the state of Karl Beckenbauer. This incident of his unfortunately continues his slighter of misfortune this season. Hope he gets well soon!
