Enrique Ruiz continues a fine weekend which saw him lead practice, and will be starting from the front for tomorrow's V-Prix. Alongside him will be Downton's Klaas van Snelheid, while the Brazilian's teammate Adrien Simon lines up 3rd. Pre-Qualifying Pre-Qualifying was a bit of a formality this weekend, as six spots in Qualifying were guaranteed and the two Highwind cars were not eligible, so the remaining contenders had nothing really to fight over. This didn't stop Yakumi Takahashi from once again topping the timesheets, proving once again his incredible oneness with his car. Brock Kidd and Nick Addison were both within a tenth of a second of the Japanese driver, showing that maybe more pace had been found in the North Star. Halvosen however was not quite on that pace, and as some pointed out, was slower than both Highwind cars. Meteor were pleased to find themselves through to Qualifying, but knew the drivers had a mammoth task of overcoming the new 102% rule. Qualifying So after an excellent lap out of the top drawer it will be Ruiz leading the pack away for tomorrow's race, with Klaas van Snelheid alongside. Their teammates Simon and Zetticci respectively fill out 3rd and 4th, and will be keen to get involved as the title fight between the two heavyweight teams starts to heat up - most impressively, just a mere tenth of a second separated the top four. Further back, Will Taylor impressed again putting his car into 5th with Powers alongside, Phoenix keen to keep their momentum going while Lucas try to find their rhythm again after missing two strategy deadlines and losing ground. Ocelot also had a strong showing nearly getting both cars inside the top ten, and will be happy with 8th and 11th. Vasquez was also doing well today as everybody turned the wick up, although sadly his teammate fell just short of the top ten. The North Stars and Arrows look set to do battle once more as they line up alongside eachother on rows seven and eight, the two teams both hoping to repeat their points scoring heroics from South Africa. Behind them it was AMR sandwiching the FIRSTs, with Zozulya a couple of tenths shy of his teammate and closing out the top twenty while Stefan Klien once again impressed and outqualified his more experienced teammate. For anyone outside of the top twenty, it was bad news. The final two rows were taken up by Lopez and Westwood, with both teams having their lead driver outqualified by their second driver, and veteran Tumo Kinnumen starting last, as the two teams seemed to struggle for grip all session long. However, they didn't have nearly as hard a time as the Meteors. Try as they might, the drivers seemed to know there wasn't enough in the car pace wise, and they become the first drivers in Formula Virtual to fall victim to the new 102% exclusion rule - missing the cut by an agonising half a tenth with Domenicalli and two tenths with Beyer.
