Enrique Ruiz was able to get his Porsche Mathershaw to the top of the order in practice today as the session was affected by heavy rain. The rain was very much the story of the session this afternoon - those who were able to set competitive laps in the dry early on were the ones who ended up at the sharp end of the order, as once the rain arrived five minutes into the session it was clear it was here to stay. Ruiz was joined by the two Downtons in the top three, while Alvarez got an early time in to secure fourth on the timesheets. Klien and Kidd also had good sessions, the two were in fact queueing to get out for when the lights went green and were able to get the most dry running - both teams hoping to turn around their reliability woes from last race. Finn Schnyder and Nick Addison also ended up in the top ten, with Forini just outside in 11th for Franklin. In 13th was a surprise in the form of Felix Beyer who set a time early on before coming straight in for setup changes - he went back out but was not able to improve. Among those caught out were Puccio Giodano and the two Ingrams, both out of position compared to their car's pace due to the weather. Joining them were the two Lucas cars and Adrien Simon who all found themselves outside of the top twenty - they'll be starting from a similar position tomorrow as they are all three of them excluded from qualifying. No real idea of the pecking order from practice then as the teams just tried to get some wet weather experience and setup info, particularly those who have never had a race in the rain. As we have more rain forecast throughout the weekend, the teams will definitely have to be on their toes this weekend. Full results below.
