Hello and welcome to another round of the IJGPC, this time one of the showpiece events at Brands Hatch. After a fascinating qualifying session, Yohan Dubois was the man to take the spoils and pole position, giving Kenyon Racing their best performance so far. Vito Certonio managed second in a brilliant session, not at all far behind Dubois. The drivers are lined up on the grid, and it isn't too long until the drivers embark on 51 laps of this magnificent circuit. Lap 1: Here we go, the British Junior Grand Prix, this is the home race for quite a few teams and drivers, so there will be a lot at stake here. The first light illuminates, the engine notes rise, the excitement builds... two, three, four, five... The lights go out, and it is time to start racing! Dubois gets a sluggish start, and the faster starting Certonio manages to pull alongside, with Stokey, Brandon, Wright and Dekzwabber very near behind. Certonio manages to hold on around Paddock Hill, and up Hailwood Hill actually gets his nose in front, but as they go into Druids Dubois takes the inside and remains in front. Further back, Jamie Gerrard makes a terrible start, losing three positions as he is pushed to the outside of Paddock and Druids, before Agretha dives inside through Graham Hill. Lap 1: Going through Clearways, Dubois still leads, but only by 0.4 seconds as Certonio is right on his tail. Stokey still third, Wright fourth. Lap 3: Into Surtees Mikko Heininen takes a look inside Jean DePanon, and squeezes him out wide on the exit. They are neck and neck on the run down Pilgrim Drop, Heininen squeezing, squeezing... OH MY! DePanon's car snaps across the track, BUT HE RECOVERS IT! Costa passes both him and the slower Heininen, but in the end all of the cars continue unscathed Lap 7: Dubois is still under threat from Certonio, Clearways providing the biggest challenge for the Kenyon driver Lap 11: Michal Kubat is pushing DePanon, into Paddock Hill, he switches to the right, and sends one down the inside... sensational move. Lap 15: Juan Alejandro is making progress, he has pulled right up to Taylor and goes down the inside into Dingle Dell - fantastic, some world class overtaking. Lap 20: Germund Svensson is doing well, up into 22nd, with Moretti and Oliveira-Martins up in front. They are squabbling into Surtees, and Svensson moves in between them! Down Pilgrim Drop, three abreast, Svensson is faster out of the corner, a wheel length ahead. Into Hawthorns, Svensson keeps his foot in! Takes 20th position, but that is a move worthy of a race victory! Lap 24: Dino Palma and Edgardo Agretha are fighting, and into Clearways Agretha runs slightly wide, and Palma takes advantage Lap 26: At the halfway stage, Dubois leads, but is under a lot of pressure from Certonio. The full standings are as follows:
Lap 29: Frances Bouvert in 25th is jockeying with van Snelheid, and manages to get past into Druids Lap 32: Bayurn Zrigovic hasn't done at all well today, but manages to force past Oliveira-Martins for 22nd. Lap 33: Mikko Heininen has been ragged today, and shows no signs of improving so far, losing a place to Vahasoyrinki around Dingle Dell for 15th place. Lap 36: Michal Kubat is the next to take advantage of a poor race from Heininen around Druids Lap 39: Agretha runs wide in Clearways, nearly losing the car, losing places to Jamie Gerrard and Juan Alejandro. Lap 44: Michael Wilkins in 8th dives down the inside of Callum Brandon in Hawthorns and takes the spot Lap 46: Yohan Dubois is now again under threat from Certonio, and dives down the inside into Druids. He gets through, but Dubois has better traction and Certonio is forced to brake to get around Graham Hill. However, the Piuttosto Veloce driver manages to get though with an amazing move around Clearways: 'Certonio on the outside of Dubois through Stirlings, and is about a car length back. On the run to Clearways now, he hardly slows the car, and now Dubois has left a gap... and Certonio takes it! A wonderful move, Certonio leads!' Lap 51: Certonio wins the RAC Junior TT with an amazing move in the last 5 laps! Dubois an impressive second, but will have wanted the win. Full standings:
