As has become customary now this season in Formula Virtual, Downton ended practice on top with Nathaniel Powers leading Klaas van Snelheid, but the rest of the field were closer than anticipated at what was widely expected to be Downton's strongest track of the season. The long straights and minimal slow speed corners have long played to Downton's strengths, yet Adrien Simon was third for DS Mathershaw, just over three tenths away from the fastest time and within one tenth of Klaas.
Enrique Ruiz was close behind in fourth with the top fourteen covered by less than nine tenths of a second. Renault proved to have dramatically improved their engine performance as Hugh Dwyer was fifth fastest ahead of the Westwood pair of Tumo Kinnumen and Finn Schnyder. Meanwhile the second Holmqvist saw another outing for Sebastian Bergkvist in practice, the Swede ending the day twelfth fastest, just three tenths off Dwyer. Karl Beckenbauer continued his form from Spa with the eighth quickest time for North Star with FIRST rounding out the top ten ahead of Kangur, while Judson Sikes and Puccio Giodano were the last drivers within one second of the fastest time. Will Hoskins was fifteenth ahead of the Lopez pair - who saw Viktor Östberg participating in place of Elroy Wagner but slower than James Harding - with the Meteor duo and Felix Beyer rounding out the top twenty while Ingram, FUN and Ocelot completed the times.
