Championship leader Nathaniel Powers has topped practice for the Mexican V-Prix, though Enrique Ruiz ended the session less than half a tenth behind, while the third Championship contender Klaas van Snelheid struggled to match their pace. Powers and Ruiz were the top two throughout and never more than two tenths apart, though it was the Brazilians last lap that put him as close as he ended the session. Will Hoskins was the pairs closest challenger, the FIRST man just over two tenths back as the team look to recover from a disappointing Italy. Adrien Simon was fourth quick, just 15 thousandths behind the British driver, while Klaas van Snelheid in fifth was over half a second down on the team mate, the Dutchman visibly confused and with work to do if he is to keep himself in this title fight. Felix Perez wasn't far back from the second Downton man in sixth ahead of Sergio Alvarez and Hunter Ryan, whose teams will be very pleased to see their cars solidly in the top ten as they look to claw back points on Westwood in the battle for seventh. Johan Halvosen was strong again for North Star in ninth, while Allar Kangur made a surprise appearance in the top ten for Lopez, though with team mate Elroy Wagner just three positions behind, it appears as the team may have genuine pace this weekend. Between them were the second Ocelot of Dominykas Zvironas, and the lead Westwood of Puccio Giodano, slightly lower than the team have been accustomed to of late. Another outfit to endure a slightly difficult session was Ingram, with Jean Mattson fourteenth and James Vasquez only nineteenth, the British based team will be hoping to turn their fortunes around tomorrow, especially given the relative pace Lopez showed as they fight to hold onto fifth place. Marcus Thunder was the lead Lucas in sixteenth while the second car was taken by junior and reserve driver Maximilian Thunstrom in his Formula Virtual debut, ending up six tenths and seven positions behind Thunder. Enzo Domenicalli was the lead Franklin in seventeenth, while both Yakumi Takahashi and Finn Schnyder ended the session in the top 21, giving them confidence of making it through Q1 tomorrow. Thierry Xylander endured a difficult session with intermittent braking issues, while the two Cheema's completed the top 26 as they prepare for their first Q1 session since the United States. The Meteor pair were snapping at their heels, indicating the session may not be quite as straight-forward as many are expecting, while Zander Brynildsen completed the times in his second outing for Arrow, unable to match his heroics of Monza.
