Following Nathaniel Powers' impressive drive to second in the French Grand Prix - just a week after he finished third in Portugal - his team principal Bradley Downton has publicly shown how happy he is with the Brit, declaring he still has a shot at the title. When asked about Powers' performances during an interview in the build-up to the German Grand Prix Downton said, 'He's been incredible. For me, the stand-out driver on the grid this season, by a mile. The things he's doing with that car and the places he's putting it are superb, and long may it continue. In fact, I'd even go as far to say as - if Franklin and Liverpool keep tripping over themselves - Nathaniel can still take the Championship.'
'Am I joking? Absolutely not. I have every faith in the lad, he really is a true talent.' When asked if this meant the team were now favouring Powers over their other driver Marcus Thunder - who has performed below par of late - Downton replied, 'Not at all. We have two drivers in the team and both receive equal treatment. Marcus has had it tough of late but I've no doubt his form will return. Perhaps even here in Germany. One thing's for sure though, I'd love nothing more than to see my two drivers stood together on the podium.'
