In a recent press release, it has been confirmed that Peugeot will continue to supply engines to Ocelot Japan Racing into 2024. Harry Westwood, team principal of Peugeot Westwood, made an announcement regarding the future of the engine deal and the partnership between themselves and Peugeot. He was joined by Jean-Pierre Polnareff (Peugeot Virtual Motorsport Director) and Rai Miyamoto, Ocelot team principal.
HW: "I'm really pleased to be able to talk about this finally. Initially this partnership was for the year only, with the option for extension. And speaking now with the ability to reflect on the season for the most part, I feel this partnership is working very well - so we were thrilled here at Peugeot Westwood when Rai was happy to extend the deal." RM: "We are very proud to announce the extension of our deal with Peugeot! It has been a very successful partnership this season and we hope to continue to emulate this throughout our journey together. What has been achieved this year has really surprised us and we believe in the foundation of building on this project even further. Massive thank you to Westwood as well as we continue to work and strive together in business and on track." JPP: "Since joining this project, the importance of data became extremely apparent from the outset. And with Alfa Romeo taking a step back from engine production we saw a perfect opportunity with Ocelot. It's been very good working with them over the past year, they have been a fantastic team to work with and we are happy that everybody is onboard and on the same page. We are committed to growing our project and developing it into the best in the sport, and we could not have made the progress we have without their involvement." HW: "Well I think these guys have said it better than I could have! Big thanks go to Rai, Poochy, Felipe, and all the Ocelot boys and girls. It's a pleasure being able to work in this partnership with you and we are aware of how much work went into this season - right from the get go with accommodating a new power unit last minute. Hats off, and here's to a great 2023 finale, and to continued forward progress!"
