Hello and welcome to the commentary for the recently announced Peugeot event this afternoon. There will be live updates from the anticipated event graced upon by media and Team Principals. 15:05 - Team Principals start to gather in the Peugeot motorhome. No indication is given as to why invitations were sent out.
15:10 - Press and media start to arrive. The motorhome is looking pretty packed! 15:20 - The lights dim, silence occurs and Team Principal Kazuki Armos arrives to the stage and welcomes his guests. 'Hello all and welcome to the Peugeot motorhome. I am sure that many of you are wondering why we have invited you here. You'll find out soon! The Peugeot journey started many months ago when a small Meteor team announced intentions to be the works Peugeot team and here we are! As part of a family of motorcars and racing cars, supplying and working effectively is the target. We have always said that as well as being a works team we wanted to supply engines and very much be part of the sport as a competitor in more ways than one.' 15:25 - A small present occurs on the facing wall of the motorhome. 15:28 - Kazuki Armos returns to the stage. 'Not so long ago we announced that we have agreed an exclusive deal with one of the teams present in this motorhome to supply engines to next season. We are now even happier to announce that as well as providing engines we have also agreed a technical partnership with this team that will provide both of us with facilities to work and improve together to eventually become strong teams. I am and the team in question are happy to announce that the team taking on the new engines and being part of our technical partnership is LucasGP!' 15:34 - Lucas Wilson graces the stage. 'It is my great privilege to announce that we have signed a 2 year engine deal and technical partnership with the Peugeot F1 Team. We have new regulations for 2015, with the V12 engines. I have seen the progress Peugeot are making with this engine and I believe we will be challenging for points and podiums at the very least!' 15:40 - Kazuki Armos moves forward to the microphone - a LucasGP and Peugeot F1 collaborative logo appears on the screen. 'As well as providing Lucas with engines and the two teams sharing resources from next season onwards our current sponsor TSB has agreed to extend its sponsorship beyond the two Peugeot cars. Myself and Lucas are pleased to announce that TSB have agreed to present their logos on all four cars. Sadly for us though, TSB have decided to step down as title sponsor though because of this. We are pleased that the logos will still be present on the car in a not so minor way as they will be on the LucasGP cars. I would now like to welcome Head of Marketing at TSB Mike Regnier to the stage.' 15:45 - Mike Regnier moves to the stage. 'I as are both Peugeot and LucasGP very happy for TSB to be sponsoring their cars as of next season. When Kazuki contacted me to tell me that Peugeot and LucasGP were entering a technical partnership and I was excited at the prospect of TSB logos on all four cars. For us maximum exposure is very important - therefore this new deal is ideal for us. Yes, sadly we are stepping down as title sponsor for Peugeot. Financially we don't see it as viable to sponsor LucasGP and Peugeot in this way. I have been assured that our logos will still be on the Peugeot car as the LucasGP in a noticeable way and on behalf of TSB we are very happy about this. I've got to say their new sponsorship concept is very exciting!' 15:50 - Kazuki Armos thanks all Team Principals for attending the event and opens the floor the media. 15:51 - VirtualSport pose the first of two questions 'Lucas, last year it seemed as if a major deals with Volkswagen had been agreed. Your now moving into a partnership with Peugeot. Why did the VW deal come to an end?' 15:52 - Lucas Wilson responds. 'Well weren't going to announce this now. However, on behalf of LucasGP and Peugeot we are pleased to announce that Regi Abott will be racing one of our cars for three rounds after this race.' Kazuki Armos adds: 'I said from the announcement of our driver line up that I had in the contracts of our test drivers that at some point this season they would race the cars. I have taken up that option now. I am pleased Lucas was keen to take Regi on board for those races. It will already help the communications between the team and Regi will still be in a fighting position for points hopefully when he is not in a Peugeot.' Lucas Wilson responds: 'Now this is a while prior to my agreement to have Peugeot engines. I agreed with Kazuki to take on Regi for three rounds. I then informed Volkswagen of this. On behalf of VW I inform you that they were not pleased to have not been consulted and taking on drivers from a competing manufacturer was not what they wanted at any point. Sadly by mutual agreement our working relationship was weaker and I felt as did VW that as of next season we worked separately. Therefore, the Peugeot engine supply and technical partnership came about.' 16:00 - Second question from VirtualSport 'Kazuki, you have a new sponsor next season, any clues you can give us?' 16:01 - Armos replies 'Now this is why I wanted the other Team Principals here! I have come to an agreement with PepsiCo to support three of their brands on the car. I have agreed with PepsiCo who one of the brands will be and in a new marketing campaign, as I speak they are composing two lists of potential sponsors. We will then post two polls and this will allow all to vote as to who they want to be our sponsors. We will not necessarily have a title sponsor but instead supporting three brands, two of which in a major way, of PepsiCo on our cars. On another note I am pleased to announce that I will be receiving Wilson Oil from Lucas Wilson and I have extended my partnership withTF1 and they have renewed their stake in the team.' 16:07 - Kazuki Armos and Lucas Wilson thank media and guests for attending the event.
