Following another disappointing weekend for BMPS Scuderia Meteor Team Principal Shane O’Connell slammed his own team when asked by the press about qualifying. “It was a shambles, I’m embarrassed.” Said O’Connell in the paddock on Saturday morning after Pre-Qualifying, “Enzo’s car was strung together after his big crash yesterday and I’m honestly surprised he was happy to get in and set a time. The resources we have meant that Felix’s car wasn’t even ready which is why he never even set a time, I feel so sorry for him having to put up with this sort of thing regularly.” Scuderia Meteor have started the new season in the worst possible way with four failures to escape Pre-Qualifying in the first two races. Last season the team failed to qualify on every occasion except one when Davenport miraculously made the race and this season looks to be the same story. Irishman O’Connell rarely speaks to the press as it is usually Deputy Team Principal Guido Caliri who does the talking but a reporter managed to catch him as he made his way out of the back of the team garage. “Something needs to change soon, I’ve kept my mouth shut for long enough now and someone needs to step in-“ O’Connell continued, before a furious Guido Caliri stopped the interview and the two men erupted into a heated exchange, with O’Connell eventually telling Caliri to do something that we won’t print here. The situation at Scuderia Meteor appears to be approaching a breaking point now.
