Johan Halvosen and Brock Kidd will continue to race alongside one another at North Star Racing for a further two seasons, the team has confirmed in the aftermath of the Turkish V-Prix. Halvosen joined North Star in 2018 following two and a half seasons at Meteor, while Downton secured a loan deal to see Kidd make his Formula Virtual debut alongside the Dane this year.
"It's been one of the most difficult seasons we've ever had on track so far," team principal Nick Forrest told gathered media, "the car is not where any of us want it to be. North Star, though, have always tried to stay focused on the long game, and both drivers have seen the level of work that the whole team is putting in back at the factory in Perth to get us back to where we should be racing." "We're very pleased that both drivers have committed to the team for the upcoming two seasons, Johan has proven time and again his unquestioned talent, Brock has been incredibly strong elsewhere and has run Johan very close on a number of occasions. Both guys, we believe, are very strong drivers, and this gives us some great consistency on that front moving forward." North Star currently sit 13th in the Constructors' standings, and are one of three teams yet to score a point in the 2021 season.
