Phillip Dohm arrives at Westwood as the new Deputy Team Principle After weeks of silent speculation, the Westwood Team today announced the Arrival of new Deputy Team Principal Phillip Dohm. While the German should be an Unknown within the Formula Virtual circles, he is no unknown in the World of Motorsport.
Bringing in experience from all around the World he is supposed to help the Westwood Team at Developing over the course of the Season. They finished 15th and 18th at the last Race in South Africa while only being twelfth in the Constructors Standings with zero Points. He will be with the Team at the Race Track for the first Time in France. “I am happy that we can finally announce me being at Westwood and I am looking forward at the rest of the Year with the Team. I was already able to talk a bit with the Mechanics and obviously no one here is happy where we are after 4 Races but there are still a couple of Races to drive and Points to make. It can only go up from where we are and while the results maybe haven’t been where you would hope they are at the start of a season; I feel like everyone in the Team wants to turn it around. I think we have a good Package in the Drivers, the Cars and especially the Mechanics and anyone else in the Team. I am Positive that we can score some Points still, because sometimes it rains, some of the faster guys do a Mistake and suddenly you are in contention for Points. We come to the Race track on any given Sunday to give our best and that’s what we want to do.” In regards to his first time at Track in France he had the following to say. “I am excited to be there with the team, but also nervous. Whenever you come into a new Team let alone a new series, you have so many new things to learn and experience, no matter of your previous experience. It’s also going to be the first time I get to talk to the Drivers and am able to hear what they think and where we should concentrate on. In General, especially with the Engine Department you can feel a bit of excitement ahead of France, as it’s the Home Race for our Engine Partner Peugeot, which is always something Special. We will hope for the best Possible Result whether that’s Points or Position 15, at the end of the day we don’t want to leave the Track on Sunday and feel like we didn’t give it our all or best. That should be our mindset for the Rest of the Season for now.” Dohm signs to the end of the Season for now.
