Welcome to the final instalment of this series where I aimed to assign a fitting grade to every team in the FV paddock. We began in 15th with AMR, and have worked our way right to the top. It's time to grade the final team on the list: Downton. Best Qualifying - 1st x2 (Malaysian V-Prix, German V-Prix)
Best Finish - 1st x2 (French V-Prix, German V-Prix) Points - 221 Current Championship Position - 1st Overall Grade - A- Downton have once again come out of the gates extremely well. With their days mired toward the back of the pack now a far distant memory, they originally seemed to think Porsche Mathershaw would be far out of reach. Upon realising this is not the case however, they have valiantly risen to the challenge. All of this while fending off the FIRSTs who have looked a solid match for the champions on several occasions now. Downton's unwavering consistency and eagerness to hound Porsche Mathershaw has yielded an excellent points haul, and a fantastic run of acheiving a podium at every race so far. The sole reason for the minus grade is that we are expected to view Downton as a championship contender every year by this point, and they've found themselves in that position this season with a fair amount of luck (or rather, misfortune for their rivals). Having said that, they've still done an exceptional job so far, but I expect them to struggle to keep it up. Thankyou very much everyone for reading this series! It was great fun writing it, and really interesting to break it all down. Feel free to let me know which grades you think I got spot on or completely off! Special thanks to Nic Morley for providing the Westwood grading and for giving us such a fantastic opening half to this season. I hope you're all as excited as I am for a scintillating second half of the year. See you on the grid!
