The FVA have officially recognized Robert Mathershaw and his team as a Formula Virtual Hall of Fame Legend, during a special announcement after the Brazilian V-Prix. It was also revealed that a new award will be named in his honour. It has been revealed that the FVA have opened up an officially recognized hall of fame in which Robert Mathershaw, and his team, become the first members of the prestigious club. Mathershaw won their third Constructors Championship in Brazil, and thus will end their ten-year career as champions. Robert Mathershaw has steered his team to a top three finishing position in every single season that they competed in and will be a record that will unlikely ever be matched.
Two weeks from now, Mathershaw will conclude his prestigious ten-year career as team manager after announcing his departure earlier in the year. The team will no doubt be wanting to take out the drivers' championship with Enrqiue Ruiz and bow out on an even further high. "The name Mathershaw is such an iconic name in Formula Virtual, now and always will be. The impact Rob and his team have made to this sport has been nothing short of remarkable and I'm personally going to miss him and his team around the paddock. I of course send him a huge congratulations on taking the constructors in his final season, and I just can't stress enough the admiration I have for him and his team. It has been a pleasure to have him in the sport, and putting a fans hat on I have loved seeing Mathershaw go from strength-to-strength year from year. There is only one race left, and even with a title fight still brewing, I hope Robert can take some time to sit back and soak his final race up", said Morley. In addition to the above news, the FVA revealed a new trophy that will be awarded annually at the end of each season. The 'Robert Mathershaw Trophy' will be given to the best performing rookie driver for each year. Drivers who are within their first two Formula Virtual seasons are eligible to take out the award. More details of the exact processes are expected to be announced at a later date.
