In the Friday practice session ahead of the Canadian V-Prix, it was Lucas who set the pace, ahead of the Downton pair of Nathaniel Powers and Matteo Zetticci. The session was the perfect start for the ever improving purple outfit, as Lucas look to overhaul their points deficit of five points to FIRST this weekend. Marcus Thunder was the man on form all session, consistently showing great pace capable of mixing it with the top teams. Downton looked comfortable all session, with Powers and Zetticci both looking extremely pleased with their pace following the session. Allar Kangur set the fourth fastest time, with Addison and Ruiz both hot on his heels as the titanic battle for second place in the Constructors’ Championship continuing this weekend. Lopez, Franklin, and Mathershaw Porsche’s lead drivers all roughly two and a half tenths off the fastest session time. Sergio Alvarez quickly looked comfortable again in the Phoenix, returning to the cockpit this weekend after missing the last race with the injuries he sustained at the Belgian V-Prix, the Argentine setting a time good enough for an impressive seventh place. Not too far behind him was Jules Barclay, who was half a tenth up on Kinnumen in the Westwood. Adrien Simon and Will Hoskins both had a tough practice; ending the day thirteenth and fifteenth fastest respectively, although the French veteran mainly focused on long runs throughout the session. Hoskins will be hoping for a much better day tomorrow, and on Sunday, to showcase his talents to prospective teams following the news that the Brit is struggling to find a driver for next season. Further down the order; Maximilian Thunstrom could only manage the nineteenth fastest time in the second Lucas, and the Ingram pair both complained about massive understeer throughout the day, with the pair only managing 22nd and 23rd.
