At an online event this afternoon. Team Owner and Principal of Lucas V-Prix, Lucas Wilson, has revealed the teams driver line-up for the 2021 season. Marcus Thunder takes the reigns from the outgoing Carson Davenport to lead the team. Carson, who is still on contract to the Lucas Team will be loaned to the Scuderia Meteor outfit for the 2021 season.
Thunder will be joined at the team by Maximilian Thunstrom who is currently serving as the teams Reserve Driver. A press release by the team also states that Thunstrom will be participating in Friday Practice in the remainder of the season in Davenports place. A returning figure to the team is Emma Wilson, who will be the teams reserve driver. Here are some quotes from the different team members. Lucas Wilson - Team Owner: "I think we have a really dynamic driver pairing for the upcoming season. We want to break into the midfield and I think these are the guys for the job. Marcus did an outstanding job for us in Italy and we are so glad he is staying on and leading this team. We are all expecting for him to buy us all drinks with his new salary as well! Meanwhile, Maxi has been a great reserve for us. He has really helped refine the car in our simulator for Marcus and Big Carson. So I think the time is right for him to step up, and he is really eager to prove himself as well. We'll miss having Big Carson around. He is still contracted to us. So if he ever gets sick of eating pasta at the Scuderia, he knows where we are. Seriously though, we are more than happy to help Meteor. Carson had been a great driver for us and I am sure he will bring the same dedication he brought to the Lucas outfit to Meteor. And finally, we are so glad to have Emma back with us as well. She helped us a lot in our early days and he is committed to helping us develop our car" Marcus Thunder: "I am really excited to have this opportunity at Lucas to lead this team. The car and the team is getting better every weekend. I had such a blast at the Italian V-Prix two weeks ago, scoring points was such a huge boost for us. I am ready to take on the challenge of leading the team into the midfield and I think we have the package going forward to do that." Maximilian Thunstrom: "I have been waiting so long for this opportunity. When I found out I rang my parents and told them I was driving a V-Prix car, full time, the next season and we are all so happy. I really want to prove myself and prove I belong in the sport. I am training now, very hard for next season."
