Circuit de Anneau du Rhin was the location for the reveal as drivers Max Meyer and Sergio Álvarez were on standby to remove the covers on this season's challenger. The circuit was also officially declared the official test track for the Switzerland based outfit. Max and Sergio begun by answering some questions and sharing some laughs before launching the 2024 challenger. Hello and welcome to the launch of the Lopez WL-XI! Max, Sergio! You 2 are looking splendid tonight! I'll start off with you Sergio, how was your off-season and how excited are you to get back into racing in 2024? SA: Hola, yes! I cannot wait to race again. I've had a wonderful month and a half in Argentina with all of my loved ones. Christmas and new years in Viedma was glorious. There was all the family, all the food, all the partying, the games, I just look forward to it every off-season because it is embedded into my life. I also in the off-season had an incredible week and a half in Los Maldivas (The Maldives) to just completely relax and switch off before returning to Europe. It's a long process getting back into training, attending the meetings, simulator, but all is worth it when we get back onto the track. MM: Absolutely I agree. Coming back to Europe is exciting because it means we go racing soon, but at the same time it's hard to say goodbye for most of the year to my family back home in South Africa and in Zimbabwe. I hopped between Johannesburg, Harare and Cape Town for the most part while I was away over the break. It's summer down there so the weather was glorious, a lot warmer than that bonfire session we did just before Christmas break Sergio! SA: Haha yes I remember this very well. Do you still have 10 fingers? MM: Somehow yes! It's the coldest I've ever been. Sounds like you had a lovely day that day Max, as well as a lovely getaway over the Christmas and New Year break! It is also the 10th season anniversary since what was Warrior Racing entered the then F1FVGPC, quite a mouthful I know. But how excited are the pair of you to drive this season and what are you hoping to achieve results wise? SA: Dominate the season of course! MM: Ha! You're dreaming right Serg? SA: No, not at all, on the play station we were dominating! MM: Ah of course. I dream about doing that one day too! Realistically I'm hoping we've made some positive steps and can continue to fight for points more regularly. The car felt good in simulation and we'll both get a better idea when we drive it around Anneau du Rhin soon. But we won't know where we stand until we hit testing and the first round in Adelaide. SA: I agree with Max. More points finishes, specifically 1-2 finishes all year long. MM: Yes, of course Serg. Looking forward to it haha! Ladies and Gentlemen, we'll allow the 2 drivers, especially Sergio, to begin preparing their championship speeches, and head over to the garade to unveil the WL-XI, Lopez's challenger in this new era of Formula Virtual in 2024!
