Lamborghini have today announced their new title sponsor and driver line up for the 2023 season. It has been confirmed by the Italian team that Italian energy company Eni will join as title sponsor for 2023 and beyond, resulting in the official team name becoming ‘Eni Lamborghini Squadra Corse S.p.A.’. A statement from Aldo De Lucia, the new CEO of Lamborghini in Formula Virtual, said “To be able already to confirm a title sponsorship with such a great company as Eni is a statement to the whole world. The name Lamborghini attracts big names with the rich history as a luxury sports car manufacturer. The team already has a relationship with Eni from the old Scuderia Meteor era and we now will continue and build on that, promoting both brands Eni and Lamborghini together.” Following the announcement of the Eni partnership, the team also announced it’s drivers for 2023 in an online statement “Eni Lamborghini Squadra Corse is delighted to announce that Felix Beyer has signed a contract to join us as we begin our journey in Formula Virtual. Felix has been with the team as Scuderia Meteor since 2020 and to keep him will provide some stability needed in the transition to the next season. Joining Felix at the team in 2023 will be the returning Enzo Domenicalli. Enzo competed the first half of this current year for Scuderia Meteor before leaving after differences with the owners. Lamborghini recognises the importance of race winning experience and Enzo will be welcomed to this team with open arms. The experience of Giani Ledesma in the role of reserve driver will be crucial for our efforts to progress forwards as a team. Giani has been a loyal servant to the team as Scuderia Meteor and will be very useful to continue this good working relationship moving into 2023.”
With one more driver line up announced, the excitement for the 2023 FV season is already beginning.....
