Klaas van Snelheid put on an impressive display in practice today, leading a session that saw all but the meteors covered by less than a second. Zettici stepped in for championship leader Powers and took second place as Downton look to potentially wrap up the constructor's championship this weekend. Downton were not the only ones to have a promising practice session, as the Mathershaw Porsche team ended up 3rd and 4th behind, with Simon once again showing the way to his teammate. Franklin's Forini filled out the top five while teammate Addison struggled in 11th, and rival constructor Lopez struggled in 8th and 12th. It was another promising session for FIRST as they saw both cars make it inside the top ten, while Xylander impressed yet again in 9th place. Looking further back Ocelot struggled at their engine supplier's home race, while Ingram performed well enough to get both cars within the top 20. Outside of the top 20, the cars were made up of Max Meyer, Dominic Hanson in his second V-Prix, and the usual suspects of Q1. Hanson, having been called up to replace the injured Sergio Alvarez, seemed uncomfortable in the car and was unable to push or get a tidy lap in all session, while the Meteors were the only ones outside of a second off of Downton in a difficult session.
