Today it was Phoenix's rookie Will Taylor who shocked the paddock by setting a blistering time to end up topping the timesheets in practice today. An impressive display saw the Phoenix come alive in the hands of Taylor, ahead of Matteo Zetticci in the Downton and Adrien Simon in the Porsche Mathershaw. This pace was backed up by teammate Allar Kangur who looked strong on his high fuel runs, and ended up in 7th, four tenths back from the Briton. The top five were completed by former teammates Klaas van Snelheid and Nathaniel Powers. They were followed by Ruiz who seemed to have a bad afternoon, making a few mistakes pushing to find pace, and not seeming fully dialled in with his car. Vasquez had a hard session in 9th, a small way back from Ingram's rivals for 3rd, while Giodano set a time fast enough for 10th; the Italian will be hoping to improve on that to move up the order. Schnyder narrowly missed out on the top ten, the Swiss driver ending up less than one hundredth back from Giodano and placing 11th. Arrow kept up their impressive consistency with their pace once again looking good enough for the outskirts of the points, in 12th and 13th, while Mattson struggled and only ended up 13th. North Star had a mixed bag of a session as Brock Kidd set a good lap early on but made a few mistakes under the German sun as he attempted to master Hockenheim, while teammate Halvosen wasn't even fast enough to place inside the top 20. Tumo Kinnumen looked a bit happier with his car here as he set a lap good enough for 20th. The Highwind cars and Lopez cars were Noah's ark behind Halvosen, though the latter team will not be featuring in the race on Sunday due to reportedly missing the strategy deadline. Behind them was Barclay and the two Meteors, who elected to run Ledesma in place of Domenicalli this practice session. The Italian seemed to find some improved speed in the Meteor as he in fact bested Beyer by over a tenth. See full results below.
