News broke out yesterday that the most successful team manager in the sports history, Jamie Franklin, would be leaving Formula Virtual - ending the seven year career of his and his famous team. Franklin have won three drivers, and three constructor championships, and also remain the hunt for both world titles for 2019. Franklin broke the news yesterday, to the sadness of many fans and team managers alike. Formula Virtual CEO, Nic Morley, has expressed his thought's on the news.
"I'm deeply saddened to see Jamie leave the series after seven years. It has been such a privilege to have him involved from the very beginning. He has done a lot for the series, he basically saved the series just a couple of years ago, he's a great guy and the paddock will be lesser without him. I'll admit I was a little shocked to see the news, I haven't had a recent approach from Jamie to suggest this. Sometimes in life we have to make tough choices and I truly respect Jamie on his and I wish him the very best for his future. All in all he's been a fantastic guy to get to know; a great team manager to work with, but also just an all round nice guy to talk to", said Morley. "As the CEO of the series, naturally I'm saddened that Franklin won't be continuing under anyone else's management. This team has achieved so much in our sports history, it has such a great legacy, and all in all it's disappointing to see it end. In saying that I truly understand and respect Jamie's decision, but the door is always open though. I hope to see Jamie around the paddock, and he is always welcome to a return to FV in any capacity", finished Nic Morley.
