Ingram GP Team Principal William Ingram has confirmed today the outcome of the recent Ingram-Franklin driver swap. William Ingram and Franklin Team Principal Jamie Franklin were spotted leaving the Ingram garage in Belgium and confirmed they were finalising the details which enabled Nikolai Milkovich to replace Olen Inman at Franklin.
A clearly delighted Ingram said "Not running Nikolai this season was the most difficult decision I have had to make in this sport. I have also stated that I'd be happy to let him run for another team who offered him the chance to race so when Franklin came calling I couldn't agree quickly enough". Jame Franklin added - "Nikolai is a proven talent and has done great things with Ingram. We look forward to seeing how he gets on with us for the remaining races. It won't be easy, but I'm sure he's more than capable of performing well". A reporter asked Franklin what this meant for Olen Inman's future and whether or not Jamie was happy with the Monegasque this season, to which Jamie merely smiled and strode off to his motorhome. "Erm", continued Ingram, "I guess I shall confirm the rest of the reshuffle. We will be taking Rodolfo de la Fuente as our test driver for the rest of the season and Olen will be stepping back to the reserve driver role at Franklin." Milkovich, Inman and de la Fuente have question marks over their future in the sport. While rumours abound that Milkovich will be picked up by newcomers Cheema FV, there has been no such interest in Inman. Comments are closed.
