Ingram V-Prix have today announced their drivers for the 2023 Formula Virtual season. "Ingram V-Prix are delighted to announce the long-term future of its driver line-up. Fresh from his first victory in FV and his strongest season to date, James Vasquez is remaining as part of the Ingram line up for 2023 and 2024. As previously announced, Jean Mattson has departed the team after a wonderful career together. We wish him the best of luck at Siefert in 2023. We are delighted to announce the signing of Allar Kangur to fill the #38 seat, and we are more delighted to annouce he'll be driving with us until 2025 at the earliest. Nikolai Milkovich has been retained following his brief stint at Highwind at the end of last season, as has Yohan Dubois." While the announcement contains no surprises, Ingram have, somewhat remarkably, built one of the strongest driver line-ups in the paddock. James Vasquez was arguable the driver of last season, certainly the star of the midfield at the very least. He finally claimed his first victory and asserted full superiority over Jean Mattson (who, in his defence, is clearly in the latter days of his career). Tying down Vasquez for two seasons shows Ingram have shown enough to James that this project will result in more wins and perhaps a full challenge. Joining him, in a somewhat open secret, is Estonian driver Allar Kangur. Kangur has built a reputation as one of the best racers in the sport, and it is slightly suprising that he did not return to his parent team, Porsche, following the retirement of Adrien Simon. Porsche's loss will be Ingram's gain, of that I have no doubt. Seven victories came his way in his stint at the Mathershaw team, one more with Lopez. He also scored two podiums for Phoenix last year, cementing his burgeoning reputation. A three year deal shows real faith from both sides. Kangur will be eagar to find a new permanent home having been on loan for the previous three seasons of his career. He will face a real challenge in what has became Vasquez's team. Nikolai Milkovich will finish his career as reserve driver for the team, and may yet have one final race. Yohan Dubois surprisingly stays with the team after being brought of the wildnerness last season. One could reasonably argue that Ingram have the strongest driver line up for 2023. Let's see if they have the car to match the drivers.
