Ocelot's fine form under the floodlights continued into Saturday, as Puccio Giodano secured pole position for tomorrow's race. The Italian was the only driver to break the 1:28 barrier, with a flawless lap just 15 minutes into the session that ultimately couldn't be bettered. Ryota Yoshida performed strongly once again after topping the timesheets on Friday, finishing exactly three tenths down on his teammate, but that was enough of a gap for the DS Mathershaw of Allar Kangur to split the pair and line up alongside Giodano on the front row tomorrow, demoting the Japanese rookie to third.
Things were less rosy, however, for championship leader Adrien Simon. After traffic issues early on in the session, the Frenchman's final effort saw him less than a tenth shy of Giodano in the first sector, before a lock-up into the tricky braking zone of Turn 10 sent him wide, costing him half a second and resigning him to P6, one spot behind nearest championship challenger Nathaniel Powers. Further down the order, the two Ingrams locked out row five for the fourth race in succession, while the Phoenix of Carson Davenport emerged at the head of the close battle in the lower midfield, and Finn Schnyder will start at the foot of the grid after an undisclosed gearbox issue brought the AMR driver to a halt on his final run.
