Puccio Giodano has taken Ocelot's maiden pole position ahead of the 2018 Malaysian V-Prix with a stunning lap in a very wet qualifying session. Giodano was in top form throughout the session and never looked like being bettered, eventually taking pole by over half a second from Nathaniel Powers, who will join him on the front row. Klaas van Snelheid starts third after just pipping Adrien Simon to the head of the second row, while ending up just over half a tenth down on his team mate. Enrique Ruiz starts from fifth but with a lap time nearly a second from pole, and he shares the third row with Allar Kangur. Will Hoskins qualified seventh but will start tenth after his 3-place grid penalty for causing a collision in the previous race, promoting Elroy Wagner - who starts seventh after a stunning effort - Tumo Kinnumen and James Vasquez. Carson Davenport put in a great lap and will start twelfth for Phoenix, while both Olen Inman and Ryota Yoshida struggled in the wet conditions, and will share the eighth row of the grid. Felix Perez put in a fantastic effort for FIRST and will start eighteenth, while the Meteor pair struggled in 24th and 25th, but will be demoted to sharing the back row of the grid after being excluded from qualifying for failing to submit a strategy on time. They will therefore also start on the same tyre compound as they ran on in China. See below for full qualifying classification and grid with tyre choices: Comments are closed.
