In the latest development at North Star Racing, it is widely expected that 2016 Virtual Americas Racing Series champion Gabriele García will fill the role of North Star reserve driver for the 2017 season.
The position was left an open question in the latter stages of 2016, following a difference of opinion between team principal Nick Forrest and engine supplier BMW. However, both sides appear to have come to an agreement following the recent Young Driver Test at Jerez.
Along with Niklaus Hölzberg, another member of the Protostars youth academy, García is likely to make the move up to either FV2 or VWRS for the coming year, but the Brazilian is also expected to run in a number of practice session throughout the season with the main team.
The NSR-V02 challenger for the 2017 Formula Virtual season is scheduled to be unveiled in the coming weeks.
