An Italian engine, Italian drivers, Italian manager, Italian sporting blue livery - a true Italian team to it's core. Today on FV Livery Histories we take a look at Scuderia Rossi which competed in Formula Virtual for three years. The team was founded and run by Antonio Rossi. The Italian team was famous for it's light blue livery with fluro yellow accents. Although the livery changes were minor from year to year, let's take a look at those. Scuderia Rossi 2013 Rossi revealed a distinctive light blue livery, an inspiration from the Italian national sporting colors. The livery featured striking fluro yellow accents, which happened to compliment nicely with the helmet of their star driver, Puccio Giodano. Fluro yellow pinstripes made it's way up starting from the nose of the car. The Italian flag was also incorporated in a way, with red, white, and green stripes used on the top of the sidepods. The Scuderia Rossi logo was also painted on the sidepods. 2014 The 2014 livery was very much an evolution of the 2013 one. There was more fluro yellow added on the car - most noticeably on the front and rear wings. Rossi also increased their sponsorship partners, with the addition of Shell, Eni, and Petrobras logo's plastered over the car. 2015 Scuderia Rossi entered their third and final season once again using their signature light blue and fluro yellow color scheme. For the first time, Rossi finally displayed their engine partnership with Ferrari on the car, which could be seen at the back of the car. Marlboro joined as a sponsor, which also meant the first time a tobacco company has been associated with Formula Virtual. It is very much believed Antonio Rossi asked for approval from the FVA whether such a partnership could be displayed on their livery. Petronas and Xerox also joined as sponsors, basically replacing all their 2014 sponsors who left the team. This was the year the team also succeeded in taking their first race win. So this livery did end up being associated with some success. Unfortunately, Antonio Rossi and his team departed from the series at the end of 2015, despite building what is believed, a very competitive 2016 machine. Their 2016 car will always remain as one of the Formula Virtual 'what if's' - and we could have associated the distinctive light blue livery as a championship winner, or at the very least a serious title contender. Since the departure of Scuderia Rossi, we have seen many blue liveries grace the race track, however none that have taken away from the uniqueness of a Scuderia Rossi livery.
