After a scintillating, action-packed Brazilian Grand Prix, Franklin F1's Nathaniel Powers was able to clinch the VGPC driver's title, with one round left in the Championship. Cheers could be heard from the pit wall as Nathaniel Powers crossed the line to claim the first driver's Championship of the series. It was an emotional day for the Brit and his team, having to worry about the torrential rain, as well as the unfortunate failure of Hoskins' engine.
"It's been an incredible day!" Jamie Franklin said to us after the race. "Obviously we're slightly disappointed about Will today, and not being able to claim the Constructor's, but nothing is going to stop us partying tonight. I'm just speechless...really, I am. At the beginning of the year, we knew we had an okay car, but we had no idea that we would be here. Nathan has had such an amazing season, and though we've had our ups and downs, both on the track and off, we have to thank him for his obvious contributions to the team, and we wish him all the best for next season. However, as for now, we're going to have a wild night!" Unfortunately, we weren't able to catch up with Powers, though there were images of him downing a bottle of champagne, surrounded by his engineers cheering him on. We're sure that this will be a day that he will remember for a very long time to come! (Clearly the picture isn't Nathaniel Powers or Franklin F1, but I thought it would be a touching tribute given the similarities)
