Jamie Franklin - Team Principal/Owner
I'd say Melbourne was pretty standard of our form so far this season. Our qualifying was a little bit lacklustre, it's the first time we've had both guys on the back row, and that's not great, a little bit of a step backwards if anything. But I think we did a little better in the race. I was particularly impressed with Nick's stints on the medium tyres, being able to keep pace whilst stopping once less than the other medium tyre runners around him, which helped us get our best result of the season. Still feels weird saying that given it was only 17th. Again, a positive is our reliability and lack or errors, which puts us in good stead should some better luck fall our way. Enzo Dominicalli - Driver - Qualified 25th/Finished 24th Australia was a bit frustrating, we didn't have the grip in qualifying and I was stuck behind Davenport for many laps on the hards not being able to overtake, because it's just so difficult to do the overtake here. We need more good result in the qualifying for the next race if we want to get a better result. Nick Addison - Driver - Qualified 26th/Finished 17th First home race in FV was a bit of a blast. Didn't go quite as I planned though. Quali was a bit poor for us, I certainly didn't get the best out of the car, but ya know, we live and learn. Race was a bit better, though Davenport was being a bit of a drongo, parking his car in the middle of the road on those hard tyres, and with Enzo in front of me it just didn't work, so I sat back and looked after the tyres a bit more, which worked out really well in the end. I really think we had the pace to push for 16th here, but we'll just have to show that in the next race. Ivan Soto - Technical Director This race was not our best performance, but with the combination of Nick's quick thinking saving the tyres and the strategy department working tirelessly, we salvaged a good result. This is the crucial time for us, we need to pull out all the stops for South Africa, otherwise we will be in trouble. Arrow and AMR, despite their respective results have good pace, so we cannot afford to get in battle with them in Q1. This is time for us to look at car weaknesses and make significant changes. Felicia Quinn - Chief Designer Gradually, we're working out the nuances of this car. Our race performances do seem to be better than our one lap pace, which is something we need to address between now and Kyalami. I fully believe that if we have a decent, maybe even lucky, quali performance then we can come away with a good result. On a race simulation, the car seems to have a better balance, but we can't optimise that if we're stuck behind others during the race. We'll be bringing some upgrades, primarily focused on extracting a little bit more rear downforce, where we feel we're lacking the most at the moment, and hopefully that gives us the push we need to secure that result we need to avoid Q1.
