The inaugral episode of Danilo Forini's podcast! "Hey guys, and welcome to the first episode of my new podcast - Formula Forini! I'm really excited to start this. I've been wanting to do something like this for a long time, but I never really felt justified in doing it, as I hadn't really 'made it', if you know what I mean. But now, with the news that was announced yesterday I thought it was a really good time to take some time out of my schedule to start this up and really try to engage with some of you fans. For those that haven't heard, it was announced yesterday that I will be driving for the JFPT Franklin-Honda team in 2021, and honestly I'm so excited to be able to say that. I was just 14 when Formula Virtual started back in 2013, and I remember watching the first ever race, seeing Franklin battle with Team 23 and I dreamed of being able to compete in that classic white and yellow car, so to finally have that contract in my hands...I mean, words do not describe the emotions of what I am feeling,"
"But anyway, back to the start before I get too ahead of myself. I started this podcast as a way to engage with the fans. I think the world of Formula Virtual is very forward thinking in a lot of ways, but I think the interaction between drivers and fans is maybe a little bit limited perhaps? So I wanted to change that, I wanted to give the fans a piece of me, something to get to know me, to be able to ask me questions that are perhaps more personal than what we'd get with the general media. Who knows, maybe this is something that will be popular or maybe not, but why not try! So in future, if you have any questions for me, please don't hesitate to send me questions on twitter or instagram, and I'll go through the comments and try to answer what I can to give you guys what you want!" "Today, obviously, as this was a surprise, I don't have any fan questions but I thought I'd tell you a little bit about me. For some listening, you may have followed my career through the years, but I'm sure some listening may have only just heard of me now that I am going to be competing in Formula Virtual," "I started in FV3 in 2017, winning my first race, as well as two other races again that season, eventually finishing second to Maximilian Thunstrom. It was a hard fought year, and to finish second in my rookie year was really great, especially to Max, who had previous experience in that series. FV2 was a bit more difficult. I joined Johansson Motorsport in 2018, teaming with Max. The first six races or so were so tough. The car was quite a bit different to what I was used to, and that combined with a lot of bad luck, and didn't really get my campaign started until round 4 with a podium in Austria. So whilst I only finished 8th that year, I learned so much about myself and about how you need to be resilient in Motorsport in order to succeed. It's so easy to let the bad things get you down, especially when your team mate is enjoying more success and the pressure mounts up on you to do better. But despite my bad luck that year, I still had wins and podiums, and that taught me that no matter what, if I stay strong, I can always show what I'm made of," "If 2018 was bad, then 2019 was worse...and I'm starting to realise that this is sounding a bit depressing, but honestly, it's all good haha. I was dropped by Johansson Motorsport and picked up by DeMarco Team as the FV2 series became defunct and the only second tier feeder series that remained was VWRS. It was a real test for me. I didn't really gel with the team, and it just never fell my way. In Motorsport, there is always an element of luck, so I'm not going to sit here and make excuses because I didn't do as well as I should, but luck was definitely not on my side either. The pressure was intense given my performance in previous years, and at the end of the year, the team and I parted ways, and to be honest, I was quite grateful for it," "So that brings us to this year, 2020. 3 rounds in I'm sitting 5th in the Championship with one podium and one win. 2018 and 2019 have made me stronger as a person, as a driver, and much more determined than I've ever been. Franklin have shown faith in my ability, and that means a lot, that certification, that stamp of approval is what's going to drive me forward for the rest of the year. The field this year is so talented, Max Meyer, Max Thunstrom, Matteo Zetticci, Jules Barclay. These are just some of the super talented drivers that I'm up against this year, all future FV talents for sure, if not FV Champions, I'm telling you, the future is bright for FV," "So that's me! That's my career up until this point, the trials and tribulations I've been through, how I've grown to where I am now, and what lies ahead for me in the future. For now, I'll leave it there, but I really look forward to hearing your comments and questions for next time!"

Hi Danilo! Question for your next podcast, which race do you think was your best ever performance and why?
