Danilo Forini started off his weekend strongly, clocking the fastest time in a practice session that saw the top seventeen cars covered by one second. The Swiss rookie looked comfortable on his runs all session, having the two Downtons behind covered off by just over a tenth of a second. Astonishingly, both Powers and Van Snelheid posted the same laptime, setting a 1:15.799; which saw Powers take second over his teammate by virtue of setting his time first. Meanwhile Mathershaw Porsche looked to struggle somewhat for outright pace, although were incredibly consistent, and filled out 7th and 8th with Simon besting Ruiz. Lopez lived up to some of their pre season excitement with Kangur setting the fifth fastest time behind Hoskins in the FIRST, and Wagner finding himself just shy of the top ten, in 11th place. Meanwhile Lucas and AMR both continued their form from testing as well, with Thunder in 9th and Schnyder rounding out the top ten. Addison seemed to struggle, finding himself almost eight tenths down on his teammate and sandwiched between the two Ocelots of Giodano and Ryan respectively, who were looking reasonably pleased with their performance in the garage. Westwood found themselves more or less where they began their 2020 campaign, which will surely come as a disappointment for the Bolton outfit, while Ingram looked down on pace all session; Vasquez in 16th between the two Westwoods and Mattson struggling down in 23rd due to limited running. These issues also seemed to plague Yakumi Takahashi, languishing in last place almost two tenths off the nearest car, and almost two seconds off of the leader. Finally, North Star suffered a tricky session as the car looked a handful for both drivers the whole time, they'll be hoping to sort those issues out in time for the race. And finally James Thompson completed free practice in place of the absent Xylander, performing well and finishing just one hundredth of a second off of his teammate Alvarez.
